Who we are
Doing Math is a small daily math practice site at doing-math.com. You can reach us at hello@doing-math.com.
If you play as a guest
We keep a random ID in a cookie, your answers, how long they took, your ✱ (star), XP, streak and settings. No name and no email.
If you save your ✱ and XP
We add your email address and the username you pick. We use the email only to send you sign-in links. No newsletters, no marketing.
What we don't do
No ads. We don't sell or share your data. No tracking or analytics cookies. We use three small cookies: one keeps you signed in, one remembers your time zone (so your math day starts at 3:00 a.m. where you are), and one remembers when you said "Not now" to the reminder to save your ✱ and XP.
Technical data
Your network address (IP address) is used for a moment to stop abuse, such as too many sign-in emails. We store it only scrambled (hashed), and delete it within two days. Cloudflare, which hosts the site and sends our email, keeps request logs for up to 7 days.
Who can see what
If your profile is public, other people can see your username, level, streak and recent activity. If it is private, they see only your username. Guests are never shown to anyone else.
How long we keep it
While your account exists. Guest progress that nobody has used for 12 months may be deleted.
Your choices
You can delete your account yourself, any time, from settings: it removes your email, username, ✱ (star), XP, receipts and everything else we keep about you. To get a copy of your data, email hello@doing-math.com.
Children
Doing Math is for people 13 and older. You must be 13 or older to save an account.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes too.
